Keane are celebrating the completion of their hugely anticipated third album by giving away a new song, ‘Spiralling’, to fans for free.
The track will be made available to download for free from August 4th at 11AM (after an exclusive Jo Whiley play on Radio 1), for one week, from keanemusic.com .

The first proper single will be ‘The Lovers Are Losing’, released on 6th October 2008.

Keane’s third album ‘Perfect Symmetry’ will be released on 13th October 2008.

Cult musical film The Rocky Horror Picture Show is to be remade 33 years after it was first released.
The new version of Rocky Horror, which was created by Richard O’Brien, will be co-financed by Sky Movies in the UK and MTV in the US, with the UK premier being screened on Sky Movies.

Jim Sharman, who co-wrote the original screenplay and directed the film, said: “The original has some qualities that can’t be reproduced but a remake could have its own very different strengths and qualities.”

However, the remake will go ahead without Richard O’Brien or his blessing. O’Brien told the BBC he would not be involved stating “I’m not co-producing it and I won’t be involved in any way” adding “I have no view on whether it should be remade but it doesn’t have my blessing,”

He later told BBC Radio 5 Live that his involvement had been announced “to suggest I’ve given the project my seal of approval”.

The original was “a wonderful movie”, he said.

“I don’t know where they’ll go with it really,” he added.

“I’ve even heard that they’re going to put new songs in.

“I wrote the book, the music and the lyrics.

“Where are they going to get the songs from? Who’s going to do that? That’s a bit strange isn’t it?”

The original 1975 film, starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf, has become a kitsch classic.

The plot revolves around young American couple Brad and Janet who accidentally stumble into a strange world of alien transvestites and overt sexuality.

40 Year Old Virgin actor Shelley Malil has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of his girlfriend, an attack which left her in a critical condition with 20 stab wounds!

Police say he attacked Kendra Beebe, a 35-year-old mum of two and insurance broker, at her home on Monday.

Apparently Malil and the victim had been in a relationship which recently ended.

Shelley Malil, 43, of Sherman Oaks, was detained Monday night as he got off an Amtrak train in Oceanside, where he traveled to meet with his attorney in preparation for turning himself in to police, according to a statement from Lt. Phil Brust of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department the LA Times claimed.

Malil was later charged with attempted murder with special circumstances of premeditation, causing great bodily injury and using a deadly weapon. Bail is thought to be set at $2 million.

If convicted on all accounts he could face a maximum of life in prison.
