Bruno crashes anti-gay rally!

If you’re a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen, then this news will probably not come as a surprise to you. However, if you are not, you should know by now that Sacha doesn’t make films without causing rather a lot of controversy.

His fictional alter-ego Bruno (y’know the gay one who loves fashion?), decided to gatecrash an anti-gay marriage rally in California for a new film that he’s shooting.

‘Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt’ has already started filming after the huge success of another alter-ego Borat.

Last Sunday he appeared in Los Angeles at a rally which backs the controversial Proposition 8 bill. It’s a high-level state vote in the upcoming November election to make same-sex marriages illegal in California.

As you can imagine, it must have been quite a scene. There’s Cohen in a blond wig and preppy outfit, marching along with protesters, until people started to realise who he was. His production team whisked him away before you could say, “Hang on, isn’t that…?”.

This isn’t the first time that Bruno has participated in stunts before. He’s been thrown out of many high-profile fashion shows across Europe as well.

Either way, we love Sacha and his fantastic alter-ego’s. Wonder if these scenes will make the final cut? We hope so!
