The Big Gig Weekend

Stuck for something to do this weekend? Why not make your way to Shepton Mallet in Somerset and join us for what promises to be one hell of a ‘Big Gig’. There is something to suit everybody at the event.

The Big Gig Weekend begins on Friday with James Morrison, hot from supporting Take That on their recent sell out tour as the headline act. The show will be opened by special guests Ben’s Brother and local Somerset band Pinstripe.

So sorry James but it’s the Saturday night that gets us a little over excited! Not only do we get to see headline act Boyzone preform all those hits from yesteryear but we get to see Britain’s Got Talent Winners DIVERSITY. The amazing dance act will perform the set they had intended to do for Michael Jackson’s This Is It series of concerts at the O2 in London, before his tragic death.

But wait we’re not finished yet! Oh no! As if that wasn’t exciting enough fresh from Asda MR PETER ANDRE will be there!! Peters appearance will be one of the first performances after the release of his new album Revelations which reached number 3 in the UK chart this Sunday. Fans can expect to hear songs from this new album including single ‘Behind Closed Doors’ which raced to number four in the charts. He said: “I can’t wait to get on stage and perform some of my new songs as well as some old favourites.”

As if that wasn’t enough Flecking favourite Mark Read, Steve Appleton and Rhys Morgan will also be taking to the stage.

For those of you that have a rather different taste to this poptastic line up you won’t be disappointed by Sundays offering. Classical diva Katherine Jenkins is gearing up to take to the stage for the final night of performances. Katherine will deliver the stunning pieces supported by The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis. She will also be joined on stage by celebrated tenor Thomas Spencer Wortley.
