Paul Gray’s death confirmed as “accidental overdose”

Urbandale Police Department reports that Gray s body was found by an employee at the Iowa hotel early this morning, and the Des Moines Register has reported that there is no evidence of foul play; an autopsy with toxicology tests is scheduled for tomorrow, May 25. Yet another star falls victim to an unintentional overdose.

Slipknot’s bassist died from in May from an accidental overdose according to an official autopsy.

The toxicology report found high levels of morphine and morphine substitute fentany in Grey’s body. Police have said there was no evidence that either drug was prescribed by doctors.

After he died, Slipknot held an emotional press conference where frontman Corey Taylor spoke about Paul: “We lost our brother and the world seems a little smaller because of it.

“He had the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known. The only way I can sum up Paul Gray is love.”
