Whoopi hits the west end

Whoopi Goldberg is getting back into her habit for her West End debut as  Mother Superior in Sister Act!

We loved Whoopi as Deloris Van Cartier in the original movie version of the hit.

With the success of the movie it wasn’t long before the script had been given that ‘west end twist’ and become a hugely successful show, with Whoopi behind the curtain as a producer.

Whoopi has now announced that she will step into the role for 23 shows at the London Palladium, starting on August 10.  She will replace actress Sheila Hancock, who has been playing Mother Superior since the show opened in May last year.
