Police were called to a north London hotel after X Factor contestants who were staying there became rowdy and damaged property on Friday.

Staff at Wembley’s Premier Inn called police at about 0130 BST to deal with the group of the talent show hopefuls.

Contestants, who had made it through to the boot camp stage of the show, had been celebrating after rehearsals.

It was the last night before they found out who had made it through to the next stage of the contest.

An X Factor spokesman said: “Contestants had an opportunity to relax after a week of intense rehearsal and performance.

“We have spoken to the individuals concerned, who have apologised for their behaviour.
