McFly talked about getting attention from girls and how instead of taking the compliment, they feel rather awkward…

When in conversation with Jo Whiley in a Radio 1 interview, Tom and Danny were asked about how they feel about getting attention from girls now as aposed to getting attention from girls when they just started with the band.

“None of us take compliments very well, we’re all a bit awkward really…” Tom commented.

“Girls will be like, “Whoo, you’re gorgeous!” and we’re like ehh… It’s a bit weird.” Danny added.

“We’re all a bit awkward like that, I think.”

When asked by Jo about if it’s overwhelming at all, the two went on to say that after having had a two year break, they have had a good chance to look back at what they’ve achieved already.

“I think more so now, now that we’ve been not as busy, you get more time to sit back I think now, like, wow, what we’ve achieved is pretty amazing.” Danny said.

Tom explained how it’s become a life style, but how it’s difficult to explain to people who haven’t experienced it.

“What’s been fundamental for our success is the fact that we are four best friends. We literally are best friends. We have fans who have been with us all those seven years, it’s amazing to think how we sort of all have grown up.”
