The pair will find it hard to deny they are in a relationship after the dancer’s mum called Cheryl her ‘daughter’!

Cynics of Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough’s rumoured relationship will no doubt be silenced after it emerged things are moving so fast between them that the dancer’s mum refers to the singer as her “bonny daughter”.

Marianne Hough and her husband Aaron have been chatting to the pair via Skype and they seem rather taken with the Geordie singer. In fact, so much so that Cheryl has started to speak to the pair on her own and has really hit it off with them.

A source close to Derek’s family told New! magazine: “It’s wonderful that Marianne has got to know Cheryl so well via Skype.

“This quickly progressed to speaking to Cheryl independently, and Marianne is already calling Cheryl her ‘bonny daughter’, after picking up the Geordie term when Cheryl last called Marianne a ‘bonny lass’. The insider added: “Marianne also has pictures of the couple framed in her home already.”

Things seem to be going well for the couple, who are now said to be in the ‘comfy’ stage of their relationship, enjoying cosy nights in together.

The source revealed: “She and Derek are so happy in each other’s company. They have even been making their own bread, playing computer games including Wii Fit on the Nintendo Wii, and just really enjoying some downtime together.

“Derek loves to paint, so they’ve been doing that together and indulging in horror movie marathons with tubs of ice cream.

“They still enjoy going out for date nights, but they’ve got that kind of relationship where they’ve just has a brilliant time being locked away doing ‘daft stuff’ as Cheryl puts it. It’s all very back to basics.”
