Matt Willis has revealed that he and former Busted band mate James Bourne have worked on new material.

We were all heartbroken when the band split and are constantly teased by reunion rumours in the press to this day – but do they have any truth in them?

We know from James that Charlie Simpson, who brought about the end of the band, will not take part in any sort of reunion, and at present he won’t allow Matt and James to use the Busted name either, but it was Matt’s appearance on This Morning yesterday that gave us hope for a reunion.

When asked about a reunion by the lovely Phillip Schofield, Matt said: “Before I did this [Flashdance] me and James had the chat, but I think it just didn’t feel right.”

“Charlie wouldn’t do it, so it would be me and James. The question is, do we just keep it the two of us? Do we get a brand new member in?”

“We’d love to do it, don’t get me wrong, I love that band, I have such an affinity for everything we did with that band.”

“Maybe. But right now I couldn’t see myself being away from home for eight months of the year. I don’t know if I’m quite ready to give my life back to that.”

“The one thing that was good about having these chats was that it got me and James in a room with two acoustic guitars, writing songs for another Busted record. We wrote about six tracks which are the best we’ve ever written.”

“Whether Busted happens or not, there’ll definitely be something between me and James happening.” he concluded.
