Strictly Come Dancing: Dan Lobb’s last Waltz

Sexy Dan Lobb is the latest star to leave the spotlight, as Strictly Come Dancing brings Broadway to the ballroom!

Daybreak’s dishy Dan just couldn’t do enough to stay in the glitzy show for another week and has been sent home this evening.

This week saw the couples bring a little bit of timeless Broadway magic live from BBC Television Centre, as Strictly Come Dancing heralded the first of its show-stopping themed weekends.

We loved their jazz-hands, as the thirteen remaining couples put their best twinkle-toes forward and danced for their place in the contest.

This evening it the judges scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes and the two couples in the bottom two were: Nancy Dell’Olio and Anton DuBeke, and Dan Lobb and Katya Virshilas.

It was then announced that Dan & Katya would become the next couple to leave the show. Dan & Katya had danced a Viennese Waltz to the Queen classic “Somebody to Love”, in Saturday’s show, to which the judges commented on his potential.

Reflecting back on his highlight of being part of Strictly, Dan stated “Oh, dancing with Katya – it’s a wonderful opportunity to dance with somebody who works at the top of their profession, who is so talented.” And Katya added, “I have loved every single moment of it. I loved my tennis lesson”. I shall cherish that. I didn’t get a chance to get up with you at 3:30am though!

Tonight’s Results show featured a performance from Susan Boyle, singing the classic ballad, Unchained Melody, and a performance from Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald – stars of the new film version of Footloose.

Next week’s show will be broadcast on Saturday 22nd October 2011 at 1825 with the results show on Sunday 23rd October at 1925 on BBC One and BBC One HD.
