The Saturdays to turn on Oxford Street Christmas lights

The Saturdays are to join the likes of Leona Lewis and Westlife when they turn the Christmas lights on at London’s Oxford Street.

On November 1st, the five-piece will swap Chasing Lights for turning them on when they illuminate the mile-long stretch on the country’s busiest shopping street.

Fans who turn out will also be given an early Christmas present when the girls perform their new track My Heart Takes Over at the Marks & Spencer’s store at Marble Arch.

As well as Westlife and Leona Lewis, the honour has also previously been bestowed on the Sugababes, McFly and the Spice Girls.

Later in the month, Justin Bieber will be turning on the festive lights at both Westfield London, Shepherd’s Bush and Westfield Stratford City, as part of a series of night-long celebrations.

Bieber will be performing four tracks at Shepherd’s Bush and meeting and greeting 100 fans, before moving on the Stratford City where he will perform four acoustic tracks and rub shoulders with more fans, with a spectacular firework display as a back drop.
