A source claimed that the former glamour model cancelled some TV work because she needed time alone for “personal reasons”.

The 32-year-old was scheduled to appear at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, where she was to be interviewed by Hollywood psychologist Dr Pamela Stephenson.

However, Katie withdrew from the project at the last minute claiming that she had to cancel due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

A source told the Daily Star that Katie took a 24-hour “time-out” after reaching “boiling point”.

The insider told the newspaper: “Kate is tired and emotional and just desperate for some time alone.

“It’s not like her to cancel work, but it was something she decided at the last minute. It’s taken everyone by surprise.

“She has her own secrets. There are few reasons why she would let people down and disappoint fans, and they will either be to do with Alex or the family they’re trying to start.”

It seems that the love story that is Katie and Alex might be coming to an end after just six months of marriage.

Alex went to stay with his parents, following a series of rows, backbiting and bickering, reports the Sunday Mirror.

“Damn, Katie, I can only take so much. Unless things change, this will end up like you and Peter Andre,” the newspaper reports Alex as shouting during one argument.

Soon afterwards, Katie was spotted without her wedding ring as she set off for a holiday in Portugal without Alex.

Alex says he “feels cheated” by their marriage and fears she has just used him to get publicity for her books and singing career.

A “loyal confidante” of Alex’s told the newspaper that Katie can’t get over her obsession with Peter Andre.

“Their rows start off as petty arguments,” said the source.

“Often this will be her refusing to listen to him or caring at all about his opinion. But then they escalate into full-blown rows which more than often stray onto the subject of Pete.”

The friend continued: “Alex says she just can’t seem to let go. She’s infatuated by every tiny precise detail about him in every newspaper and magazine.”

Katie Price still listens to her ex-husband Peter Andre’s music on her iPod, because their children love ‘A Whole New World’, the album the former couple released together.

Discussing what tracks she has on her iPod, she told BANG Showbiz: “I’ve got ‘A Whole New World’, because the kids love that album.”

The 32-year-old star married cage fighter Alex Reid earlier this year, and celebrated their relationship by releasing her own single ‘Free to Love Again’ last month.

However, Katie admits she had to replay the track constantly in a bid to help memorise the lyrics.

She laughed: “I’ve got ‘Free to Love Again’ on my iPod. Obviously I needed that on there to learn it!”

Alex Reid has turned down an offer to appear on Ultimate Big Brother.

Over the weekend it was claimed that Katie Price’s husband, who won the final series of Celebrity Big Brother in January, had been offered £75,000 to re-enter the house.

However, the Daily Star reports that Reid has turned this down after producers declined his request that he be allowed to leave the house for five hours every day to train.

The 34-year-old is currently in training for a fight against Tom “Kong” Watson, which will take place on September 25, two weeks after the show ends.

“Alex would have loved to do the show, he enjoyed being in the house so much last time,” a source said.

“But the timing is just impossible and unless they could give Alex time to train then there was no chance.”

They continued: “BB did consider it as they knew he was such a successful housemate but they decided it would be too much.”

A spokesman for Alex confirmed that an offer had been received but added: “Alex is too focused on his fight right now to consider BB.”

Alex Reid has defended wife Katie Price over comments she made suggesting that divorce is good for kids.

Last month, the glamour model, 32, aka Jordan, claimed that children who come from a broken home are lucky because they get more presents and holidays.

‘I feel I need to stand up for Katie on the recent stories trying to make out that she said divorce is good,’ says Alex, 35.

‘Of course she wasn’t advocating divorce. All she was saying was you have to make the best of what happens.

‘There is no point staying in a relationship just because you have kids.’

Peter Andre has responded to ex-wife Katie’s remarks, saying he doesn’t see how their children, Princess, 3, and Junior, 5 – have benefited from their divorce in October 2009.

Katie Price is in Paris with hubby Alex Reid to celebrate his birthday, but it seems the model is not enjoying her stint there as she describes it ‘as the worst holiday of her life’.

“Everything was in French. The food was shocking. It was appalling — a complete and utter rip off. And it was full of French people,” a source quoted Price as saying.

“It is the worst holiday of my life.”

Both Price and Reid are in France for their ’second honeymoon’ and are reportedly hoping the holiday will spice up their marriage.

…but then he returned, and now he demands counselling.

That’s according to the News of the World, which reports that Alex is on the verge of splitting with Katie.

Apparently Katie thinks Alex is fat and blames him for the failure of her pop single and for the fact she’s not pregnant.

Meanwhile Alex hates his wife’s love of cosmetic surgery and her trout pout.

And all this after just six months of marriage. Lucky the marriage counsellor who gets to sort out that little lot.

A close friend told the News of the World: “Alex has had enough. He’s sick of her behaviour. He’s told her things have to change or he will walk away. She didn’t think he had it in him until now.”

The last straw for Alex was seeing a scene in Peter’s ITV2 show where Pete takes a call from Katie, who apparently suggests she stay with the kids at his house one night.

Alex’s friend said: “When he saw that scene on TV Alex thought it gave the impression that she was desperate to see Peter. It was like a slap in face.

“He needed some space so he left their house in Surrey and drove to his parents in Aldershot.

“At times he feels he needs time apart from Katie or he’ll go mad. When he finally spoke to her, he demanded they go for counselling. It was very dramatic. Alex has never confronted Katie like that. It shows how serious things are.”

The couple have revealed that they would adopt a baby if they couldn’t conceive naturally.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning, the glamour model said: “I’ve always said I would adopt, definitely even if I could have my own I would adopt, but I’ve said that before.”

Katie, who recently had her marriage to cage fighter Alex Reid blessed in a ceremony which was filmed for a three-part TV programme for ITV2, also said she would be a surrogate mum for her close pals make-up artist Gary Cockerill and his husband Phil Turner.

“I definitely would be one but obviously me and Alex would some first, but I’ve always said that I’d be a surrogate mum if they couldn’t have kids, they’re part of my life.”

The 32-year-old says the programme will air on Living TV.

‘I’m going to do The Jordan Factor – looking for the next Jordan,’ she said.

It’s looks like Katie is going to be on our screens even more than usual.

‘There’s also gonna be a horse programme,’ she told the Sunday Mirror.

‘And some reality stuff with Alex Reid and me.’

Kerry has reportedly claimed that their marriage won’t last, and that Katie is still in love with ex husband Peter Andre.

‘I don’t know why she keeps commenting on our lives!’ Now reports Alex as saying.

‘It is a real shame that she has said these hurtful things. It would be nice if Kerry could focus on her own life and leave Katie and I to ours.’

‘We know how happy we are,’ he says.

‘People will always be critical. We just have to focus on us.’
