After announcing she is taking a break from the music industry Lily Allen certainly does not plan to leave on a quiet note – her Brit Award plans are rumoured to involve her arriving in a model of an airplane. Read more…
Back in September last year, Lily gave up her Twitter account as her boyfriend Sam Cooper complained that he wanted to spend time with his girlfriend without one and a half million people being in the room with him.
After Joss Stone told the whole world that Lily Allen was ‘more a personality than a singer’, she’s decided to take back what she’s said. Joss told The Metro, ‘Lily shouldn’t be offended. I’m outspoken too, maybe I should call her.’
We’re not sure what Joss Stone is playing at, but slagging off Lily Allen is a very bad idea. Did no one tell her what Lily is like once she is attacked? Didn’t think so.
The singer was asked what she thought of Lily’s ongoing battle to band illegal file-sharing, and she responded with, “Lily needs to sell records because she’s not a singer,” then added, “And that’s not an offence to her, because I think that she knows that, too.”
But Miss Stone couldn’t stop there… no no. She continued to say, “I think she’s a performer and she’s more of a personality than she is a singer. But I think when musicians are really making real music people come to the show and that’s what we make our money from, from playing live. And I think it’s probably harder for an artist like Lily…”
Oh. Joss has probably made a fair bit of money from music, but stated, “Who said that musicians have to be millionaires? Who made this a rule? We don’t need that much money. We just don’t. We only need enough to make music and to eat and to go on tour.”
Either way, she shouldn’t have started on Lily Allen. She will have a comeback, she’s just waiting for her time. Oh Joss Stone, what have you got yourself in for?
Yet another popstar has given up on Twitter. What will we do if we can’t read about their lives? Lily Allen has ditched her Twitter and MySpace, and is using the old mobile instead to be contacted.
The Daily Mirror reported that she has got rid of her Blackberry in favour for an old phone that barely works. A friend told the paper that Lily would always reply insteantly, but now you have to leave her a voicemail. Lily has previously hinted that her boyfriend would get annoyed with her constantly tweeting, saying, ‘he’s like: ‘I want to spend some time with you, do we have to have one and a half million people in the room with us?”
Revenge is a dish best served in the form of a music video.
After Elton John apparently commented on Lily Allen’s lifestyle at the GQ awards and she apparently told him to fuck off she has now gone and made him (or a look-a-like at least) the star of her new music video.
When Lily Allen visited Australia in May, she filmed for an episode of Neighbours. She stars as herself, and gets interviewed by Zeke for a radio show. In the show that airs on Five on 10 November, she performs her current single 22. We can’t wait to see the full version!
Heat magazine online has an exclusive clip which you can watch below…
“I LOVE jewellery, always have done. I feel that it completes an outfit. You can change your whole look just by changing which jewellery you choose to go with what you’re wearing,” Lily Allen told VOGUE.COM exclusively of her first jewellery collection, which – following her dress collection for New Look and a handbag campaign for Chanel in the pipeline – is the latest feather to her fashion cap.
The collection is made up of nine different ranges including coins and medallions, flowers, traffic signs, acid faces, girl charms, fruit, animals and poodles (naturally). And, having been closely involved with the creation of the trinkets, she is delighted with the results, saying: “I’m really pleased with all of the designs, we worked hard on getting them exactly how we wanted them from choosing the right chain length and thickness to deciding what should be in gold and what looks better in silver. I do love the animals though – the pandas are fantastic.”
The singer cites Chanel and Dinny Hall jewellery as her main influences and, with that in mind, come September we would expect to see plenty of Chanel-and-Dinny-a-like layered chains with lots of quirky touches and enamelled whimsical charm. Chic with a sense of humour, a bit like Lily herself.
