Twilight

The eagerly-anticipated vampire romance Twilight hit cinemas on Friday.

Based on the first of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series of books, Twilight follows Bella Swan from sunny Phoenix to rainy Forks where she falls in love with the mysterious Edward Cullen.

I am a big fan of the books and was wary as to how the film turned out, but I think they have done a pretty good job.

The two lead roles are played by ‘unknown’ actors, although with the success the film is having I am sure they will be flying up the ranks in Hollywood.
If the leads do look familiar to you, Robert Pattinson played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films and Kristen Stewart may be best recognised for her role in Panic Room.

This film really is one for the girls, although the fight scene may attract some interest for the boys.

All in all, I do think this was a good film to see, if you have not read the books I think you will find it really good, if you have read the books I think you will find its just good. Some scenes from the book should have gone in to the film. But they had a low budget and I think they used it the best they could.

It has also been announced the next book in the series ‘New Moon’ is being filmed next February and is set to hit the big screen late 2009/early 2010.
