The Fur Is Flying…

…between PETA and Armarni!

Animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has urged Hollywood to boycott Armani for the Oscars as it has allegedly used fur in its collection.

The brand’s fashion designer Giorgio Armani last year promised that animal fur will not be used in any future collection.

PETA in a full-page advertisement in Hollywood trade paper Variety shows Giorgio Armani as ‘Pinocchio Armani’ for apparently breaking the promise of not using animal fur in his clothing, reports vogue.co.uk.

The fashion house admits it still uses rabbit fur “where the rabbits have been raised specifically for the food sector,” but calls it “unacceptable that PETA should continue to target [Armani] with offensive and inaccurate advertisements used to exploit the Armani name in their interests.”
