We love Bridget here at Flecking, and often find ourselves having a ‘Bridget moment’. So as you can imagine our ears perked up slightly when we heard the news of a third film. Oh yes, you heard right the woman who made massive pants socially acceptable is rumoured to be back for a third outing.
Production company Working Title have confirmed that a third instalment of Bridget Jones is currently ‘in very early stages of development’. It is hoped Renee Zellweger will again agree to gain 20 pounds and return to the role she first played in 2001’s Bridget Jones’s Diary and again in 2004 for the sequel The Edge of Reason.
With no writer or director yet on this project, the film is expected to see our Bridge, now in her 40s, attempting to have a baby!! We hope with boyfriend and all round nice guy Mark Darcy (He’s a Human Rights barrister you know!!)
The first two films have been massively successful, seeing Zellweger gaining an Oscar nomination for her role in the first film. The Flecking jury is still out on this one but fingers crossed they can keep the magic that is Bridget Jones alive.
