Amy Winehouse to perform on Strictly Come Dancing… ish

Amy Winehouse is to appear on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, although only as a backing singer for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.

The 13-year-old – who’s the first signing to Amy’s Lioness record label – will perform debut single Mama Said, a cover of The Shirelles’ 1961 hit.

‘Amy and I both love Strictly… so it was brilliant to find out I’ll be on TV for the first time singing on one of my favourite shows,’ says Dionne.

‘I’ve known Amy for ever. I’m very close to Amy. She’s like my sister.’

Amy also sings backing vocals on the album version of Mama Said.

‘The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing – such an amazing voice from such a young girl,’ she tells the BBC.

‘She’s so much better than I was at her age.’
