Robert Pattinson auditioned for dogging film

Spin Magazine & IFC Films Presents The Premiere Of "Brothers Of The Head"Twilight fittie Robert Pattinson once auditioned for the lead role in a British film about public sex.

Robert tried out for romantic comedy (yes, really)Dogging: A Love Story, but was turned down for the part.

“It’s all a bit surreal, to be honest. RPattz is a massive Hollywood star both Stateside and over here,” the Daily Star quoted a source on the set of the film as saying.

The insider added: “But two years ago he was still trying to make a name for himself back in the UK. He had a decent role in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire but apart from that he was still casting around for roles. It was not until he landed the role as Edward Cullen in Twilight that his career truly took off.

“To be honest getting turned down for the main role in Dogging: A Love Story is a bit of a running joke with Rob’s mates. They all think it’s hilarious that he can’t have been any good at dogging. Still, everything worked out in the end.”

Luke Treadaway (left) bagged the role instead.
