ITV fined over Gino D’Acampo rat killing incident

Gino D'Acampo, winner of the UK I'm a Celebrity...Get Me out of Here! , arrives at The Mad Hatter Tea Party, with his wife Jessica and sons Luciano and RoccoWe reported before how Winner of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ Gino D’Acampo found himself in a lot of bother once leaving the jungle, all over the dreaded ‘jungle rat killing’ incident and today ITV were fined over the action for animal cruelty. The fine was issued by the RSPCA in Australia where the show had taken place last year. A spokesman for ITV stated that;

“The production was unaware that killing a rat could be an offence, criminal or otherwise in New South Wales, and accepts that further inquiries should have been made. This was an oversight and we have since thoroughly reviewed our procedures and are putting in place a comprehensive training programme to ensure that this does not happen in future series.”

ITV were fined 3,000 Australian dollars for the crime and assure this will not happen in the future.
