Blink 182 will finish album this summer

Tom DeLonge performs in concert in West Palm Beach, Florida

Finally! We’ve only waited since 2003…

During an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Tom DeLonge announced that the band will finish recording the new album this summer. This will be their first album since 2003, so no doubt fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for this one.

The Blink frontman then went on to discuss his drug addiction, and how if Travis hadn’t been involved in a plane crash, the band wouldn’t be back together.

“I was on Vicodin, lots of Vicodin,” DeLonge said. “When you’re addicted to drugs, you say [a lot of] stupid [stuff]. My biggest failure was the break-up of Blink. That was a failure of friendships, businesses and communications.

“In our hearts, we thought that was forever and gone,” he added. “What’s funny is, at the time, I looked at it as a triumph. The fact that I was able to make a decision so detrimental to myself and identity and start fresh was pretty victorious.”

Then when he was asked about the plane crash which killed four people and seriously injured Blink’s drummer Travis Barker and Adam ‘DJAM’ Goldstein, Tom said, “If that accident hadn’t happened, we wouldn’t be a band. Plain and simple. That was fate!”

Whatever you say DeLonge. Now ssh, and finish that album!
