Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘freaking out’ over Vanity Fair cover

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid CFFootball Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to be ‘freaking out’ over his recent appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair.

The Real Madrid star is in such a tizz he is threatening to sue the popular magazine for putting him on the cover, but not for the reason you may be thinking!

For anyone not familiar with the cover in question the footballer willingly stripped down to his (red, tight) underpantsĀ  and showed off his ripped muscles for photographer Annie Leibovitz.

So if it’s not his (tight, red) pants that’s getting him all wound up then what is it?

Well, it seems that during the editing process Ronaldo has ended up stood next to next to rival Didier Drogba! This is bad! He is said to be furious as the rivalry between the two is even stronger at the moment due to World Cup tensions. ( Ronaldo’s Portugal will take on Drogba’s Ivory Coast in their opening World Cup match on June 15.)

“Ronaldo is freaking out,” a source said. “He says he wants to sue Vanity Fair for using his image to promote the issue everywhere. Even though this is pretty standard practice in the magazine world, he and his managers insist only they have control of his image and where it can be used.

“But no legal action has been launched, and there are whispers that what really upset Ronaldo was that, having stripped off to his underpants for the shoot in Madrid, he didn’t envisage sharing the cover with another player photographed in Milan.”

Vanity Fair have declined to comment at this time.
