For almost as long as the Twilight films have been around, there have been rumours that co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are an item.
Well recently the little things they say in interviews are speaking volumes – although we are reading between the lines of course.
For example, in the same week that Kristen says she wants to get married, Rob says he doesn’t want to settle down.
“I’m not ready to get married, but I have a really great family and I’d like that too someday, sure,” Kristen said, adding: “I believe in marriage. Whatever you want to do, you know?”.
So while Kristen is saying that she wants to get married some day, what is Robert saying on the subject?
Robert has insisted that he is in no rush to get married, and that he doesn’t see settling down and marriage as the being the same thing – not that he’s keen to do that either.
“I don’t think settling down should be the same thing as getting married,” he said in an interview on the US Today show.
“I mean, I guess settling down just means not sleeping with everybody. I don’t like the idea of having to settle, though.”
Robert also hinted that he is single by saying he doesn’t go on any dates – but he’d like to.
“I would like to go on a date,” he said. “I’m just saying. I’m just putting that out there. Because I never go on dates any more.”
Twilight co-star Ashley Greene also fuelled the rumours that Rob and Kristen might not be a couple, by revealing that she and the other female members of the Twilight cast would give Robert advice on what to say to a girl he was texting.
The wackier rumours are as follows – Robert and Kristen have split up, which is why he didn’t attend the premiere of her latest film The Runaways, the pair were never together and pretending that they are is just good PR for the film, and the wackiest rumour we’ve seen yet is that this is all a front to cover up the fact that Kristen is a lesbian.
It is no secret that Kristen enjoys her privacy, so if she and Robert were together we could all understand her wishing to keep it a secret, but the thing that is baffling fans is their refusal to deny that they are together.
A lot of people think that despite faux protesting, the couple play the press and tease them with the idea that something might be going on, but maybe if people stopped trying so hard to find out, they might just tell us?
