The Scissor Sisters’ new album “Night Work” has leaked on to the internet – two weeks ahead of its official release.

The band are due to release the record – their first in four(!) years – on June 28, but frontman Jake Shears insisted that he is happy about the leak… err, what?

He told the Daily Star: “I’m actually really excited about the leak because the response has been so amazing. I went on the internet and had a look around and I haven’t seen any negative comments.

“The people downloading it will be our hardcore fans who will want to hear it before everyone else. If they like the album it means they’re going to tell everyone that it’s good so it will get a buzz going before the record comes out.”

Well that’s a different way of looking at your computers getting hacked and files being stolen, isn’t it? Shears described the new LP as a return to the sound of their self-titled debut, which spawned five top 20 hits including ‘Take Your Mama’, ‘Laura’ and ‘Filthy/Gorgeous’.

He explained: “This album is definitely more for people that liked the first album. It captures the joy and the darkness that warm people to this band.”
