The singer is worried that returning to The X Factor might make her ill again.

Poor Cheryl Cole is fretting about whether her return to hit show The X Factor might make her relapse, after a recent battle with malaria.

The stunning singer has been itching to get back on the judging panel. But according to reports, she’s also concerned that going back too soon could have a negative effect on her wellbeing.

According to New! magazine, Cheryl broke down when talking to the talent show’s boss Simon Cowell last week, saying to him: “I’m worried that going back to The X Factor is going to make me ill again.”

Cheryl was spotted out and about for the first time since she fell ill at the start of the month, and reports are circulating that she’s set to return to the show this week.

But friends and family of the 27-year-old Fight for this Love singer aren’t sure that she’s ready to launch herself back into her busy life.

A close friend of Cheryl’s was quoted in the magazine saying: “She is in a very fragile stage right now and would be foolish to rush back to the hot seat. When Simon confronted her about her plans for an early reunion, all the emotion and tears came flooding out. She told Simon she is under such stress and strain that she can’t sleep properly.

“She then told Simon: ‘I can’t miss the show. I know people are just waiting for me to fail and I’m not having that. But some times I feel under such pressure that it stresses me out.’.”
