Apparently someone over at Ryanair has decided to rename Dublin Airport, “Dublin Jedward Airport”.

The decision comes after the Irish government announced last year that it would consider renaming the airport, which in turn spurned Ryanair into launching a comedy survey which, of course, Jedward won.

A statement from a rep at the airline said: “Ryanair, Ireland’s favourite airline, today renamed Dublin Airport, Dublin Jedward Airport after a poll of over 10,000 passengers agreed that prices at Dublin airport rise faster than Jedward’s hair.”

Not ones to underplay news such as this, the twins reacted to the airport rename via Twitter, saying:

“IF THE AIRPORT IS BEING NAMED AFTER US #JEDWARDAIRPORT WE ARE GOING TO BE ON TICKETS IS EVERYONE EXCITED WE ARE”

They added:

“John Lennon is an airport in Liverpool JFK is in New York and now Jedward Airport in Dublin”
