Over the weekend it was reported that David Beckham’s older sister has been living on state benefits despite the fact her brother is worth £125 million and he once said, “The only thing my dad said to me was ‘look after your two sisters’, and I always will.”

The footballer was reportedly ‘baffled and upset’ to learn that 38-year-old Lynne has been claiming £164 a week benefits, along with £68 income support and £96 tax credits.

A source close to Becks said: “David had no idea Lynne was on benefits. He bought her the house she lives in. He has always provided for her and her children.

“He has given her money and anything she needs, so he is clearly baffled and really quite upset.”

Beckham bought Lynne a £250,000 four-bedroom house in Essex 12 years ago despite the fact their relationship has always been strained because he doesn’t approve of her estranged husband.
