Frontman Ou Est Le Swimming Pool jumps to his death

Charles Haddon Frontman for Ou Est Le Swimming Pool has killed himself at a festival by throwing himself from a satellite mast in a parking lot.

Charles Haddon, 22, had just played a gig in Belgium on Friday.

Earlier the three-piece band – who played Glastonbury last year and had supported chart-toppers La Roux on tour – performed to a packed audience.

But their set ended in mayhem when keyboardist Joe Hutchinson dived into the crowd, leaving one girl needing hospital treatment.

The trio, from Camden, North-West London, had released three singles and their debut album was due in October. Last night fans posted tribute messages to Haddon on the band’s website.

One wrote: “He was an icon and will stay an icon”.

Haddon was the second artist to die at the festival. A member of a US band had a heart attack on Thursday.
