Russell Brand is set to make a return to the BBC in his first appearance at the station since the Sachsgate scandal.

His fiancée Katy Perry, 25, is a special guest on The One Show on Friday.

And it is rumoured that Brand, 35, will make a surprise entrance with her to join Chris Evans, 44, and Alex Jones, 32, on the sofa to talk about their forthcoming wedding.

A TV source said: “Katy’s all booked in but word is she’s bringing Russell too.

“It’s going to be a big coup for Alex and Chris to get them together.

“Russell hasn’t been back since Sachsgate, so it will interesting to see what kind of reception he gets.”

Brand quit his job with Radio 2 in 2008 after he and pal Jonathan Ross, 49, left a rude answerphone message at the
home of actor Andrew Sachs, 80. He has not been back since.
