You Me At Six Interview – Vans Warped Tour

You Me At Six, five fellas from London, now a household name throughout the UK. Already on their second Warped Tour in a row, the guys seem to be gaining popularity worldwide! With ever growing crowds at every date of the two month tour, You Me At Six are destined to prove what us Brits are capable of bringing to the table. We caught up with Chris and Dan at the Vans Warped Tour, to see how they were getting on.
Introduce yourselves guys!

Dan:
Hey, you sound English?
I am English.

Chris:
Beautiful!
Dan:
I’m Dan, I play Drums in the band.
Chris:
And I’m Chris, I play guitar.

So how has Warped Tour been so far?
Chris:
Great!
Dan:
It’s been really good. It’s only our second or third tour of the US, but things have been going in a good direction. Crowds are a lot better than they were say a year ago, which is good. People don’t necessarily know our songs yet but a lot of people seem to know who we are. They come to watch us play, and meet us afterwards saying that they really liked it.

For people who might not have heard of you over in America and Canada, how would you describe your music in one sentence?

Chris:
I think… poppy, rocky, fun. There you go!
Dan:
Yeah, kind of rocky, with a bit of pop… so yeah, what Chris said! [laughs]

So who have you enjoyed watching the most on this tour?
Chris:
We normally have a lot to time to watch bands during the day. Normally Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari, all the English bands, you know, representing. [laughs]
Dan:
A lot of the bands on our stage like Parkway Drive and Four Year Strong are really cool too, you should check them out.

Thanks for the advice! Are there any bands who you’re not too fond of?
Chris:
There’s loads, but we wont name names.
Dan:
A lot of those kind of bands pull a lot of kid crowds. It’s like they’re kind of behind the times. I dunno, it’s weird.
Chris:
I’m not gonna name anyone though.
Go on, just one.

Dan:
No!
Chris
: It’s not for you!
Dan:
Oh OK then, You Me At Six. [laughs]
