Lady Gaga’s meat dress to become beef jerky

Singer Lady Gaga speaks at a rally in Portland, Maine, September 20, 2010 urging members of the Senate to repeal the military rule banning openly gay people from serving in the armed forces. The singer’s now infamous raw meat dress, which outraged vegetarians, has not been gobbled up by the quirky star.

Instead, it will be turned into beef jerky.

The dress’ designer, Franc Fernandez, has revealed the gown will be hung up to dry “rather than rotting”.

He told E Online: “The dress will go through a process where it becomes a sort of jerky and will be archived.”

The 24-year-old Bad Romance singer says she wore the edible outfit to stand up for gay rights.

She says: “Equality is the prime rib of America, but, because I am gay, I don’t get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer.”
