McFly are hoping to attract some new fans with their new musical direction – but don’t worry if you’re an existing fan, you’re still their number one priority.

“With every album you hope that [you will gain new fans], but our first priority is that our fans will love it.” Tom Fletcher explained.

“The new stuff has got a good reaction from people that haven’t been fans before, saying ‘you’ve really got it right this time, it’s awesome’.”

“You don’t really go into the recording process hoping that, you just do it for yourself.” he added to Entertainmentwise.

“If it does that then great.” said band mate Harry Judd.

“It is certainly a new sound and direction so I think it will appeal to different people and hopefully old fans too.”
