Bless Miley Cyrus for protecting her mum from the paparazzi.

With  Miley’s parents, Billy Ray and Tish, recently announcing that they have filed for divorce, the paps are almost as interested in them as they are the 17-year-old singer and actress.

On Friday, Miley and Tish checked out of their Manhattan hotel, and it’s no surprise that they were greeted by the paparazzi.

According to Pacific Coast News, when Miley saw the paparazzi she ordered her mother to cover her face with a shopping bag.

In other Cyrus family news, Billy Ray became irate during an interview with radio host Woody Johnson on Friday morning when the DJ asked him about the status of his marriage, reports the Daily Mail.

Johnson said, ‘I have to ask you because you are a celebrity and we’ve all heard. Your marriage is going?’

Clearly taken aback, Billy Ray responded with ‘Oh man. You know what bud? Woody Johnson. Woody Johnson. God bless America, God bless our troops. Woody Johnson, look at you.’

He then reportedly cut the interview short and stormed out of the studio.
