Ooh! The Vampire Diaries is getting a spin-off!

The Vampire Diaries is reportedly getting a spin-off.

E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos reports that a “companion series” is in the works, with executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec attached.

It’s not yet known if any of the existing characters will make the leap over to the new show, which is currently being described as a ”one-hour drama about a group of researchers who investigate paranomal happenings.”

It would be nice if Ian Somerhalder put in an appearance. We recently named Ian our Sexiest Celebrity Male 2010.

Ian topped our list ahead of Olly Murs, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler to name a few. He also came fifth in our readers’ top 10. It was Adam Lambert who came first, McFly boys Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones in second and third and Zac Efron in fourth.
