Matt Cardle has admitted that he never bothered to get a real job – because he knew he wanted to be a singer.

X Factor winner Matt has worked as a painter/decorator, a postman, a milkman and even as Father Christmas.

“I was always putting off getting a real job because I knew all I wanted to do was sing,” the 27-year-old said, reports Now.

“I’ve never made any secret of the fact that I’m a bit of a bum.”

“It’s not something I’m ashamed of because I always had it in the back of my mind that I was going to make more of myself one day.”
