Did Lady Gaga Copy ‘Judas’?

Well according to Chicago-based singer Rebecca Francescatti she did.

Lady Gaga has been accused of copying her hit track Judas from Chicago-based singer Rebecca Francescatti.

Ms Francescatti has filed a lawsuit against the Superstar, claiming that “substantial original portions” have been lifted from her song Judas, which was recorded in 1999.

Brian Joseph Gaynor, DJ White Shadow, Interscope Records and its parent company Universal Music Group are also named in the suit. It is stated that Rebecca worked with Mr Gaynor on the title (he later worked with Lady Gaga on the album Born This Way). DJ White Shadow claims to have written 17 of 20 songs on Born This Way, the lawsuit says.

Ms Francescatti is seeking profits from the sale of the record, or damages of an unspecified amount.

Sky News are reporting that a spokeswoman for Lady Gaga was not immediately available for comment – and a spokesman for Interscope declined to comment.

The singer is currently caught up in another lawsuit, over claims that she profited from the charity wristbands she sold to raise money for Japanese tsunami victims.
