Take That’s Gary Barlow saves the day

X Factor judge and Take That’s Gary Barlow has saved the day by agreeing to be the headline act at this weekends ‘Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park’ event.

Here he comes to save the day, Gary Barlow’s on his way!

Lionel Richie was due to be the headline act at the event, which takes place at Hyde Park this Sunday. Unfortunately the Dancing On The Ceiling star had to pull out of the show due to illness.

Radio 2 breakfast host Chris Evans asked Gary if he’d step in and help out at the major London gig for the station, thankfully he said yes! Gary said: “It’s a pleasure to step in last minute and cover for Mr Richie.”

Fresh from playing a series of stadium shows to record-breaking audiences throughout the summer with Take That, as well as juggling his X Factor duties Gary is one busy guy.

He said: “Chris called me and said Lionel had had to pull out because he was ill and they had a hole in the show, so I was more than happy to help out.”

Evans said: “What an incredible line up – thanks to super-sub Gary Barlow who is now the icing on what was already a pretty special cake.”

The bill also features Will Young, Bellowhead, Jools Holland and The Pierces.
