Seven Today – Happy Birthday to us!

Today, Flecking Records turns seven years old. If it were a child it would be demanding balloons, presents and cake, and while we personally may still be into that kind of stuff we couldn’t be more proud of the way the site has grown.

It all started back in 2006 when our main objective was promoting both signed and unsigned bands. We were unique because our famous friends would work just as hard as we did to promote our lesser known bands, even going as far as to hand out flyers for them. Then, as Dr. Fleckinstein continued to work his magic on our site, over the past seven years we have grown into the showbiz site you know and love today.

We just want to take this opportunity to say thank you. Thank you to all the singers, bands, comedians and actors of the stage and screen who have supported us over the years. Thank you to everyone we have interviewed. Thank you to the bands who have invited us along to gigs, to hangout backstage and to tag along on tour with them. Thank you to the bands and actors we have hung out in hotel rooms with, who have watched adult movies with us and serenaded us with guitars. Thank you to the bands who go Christmas carol singing with us, play boardgames with us and dress up in stupid outfits for photoshoots.

A particularly big thank you to those who have shown us love, and continue to show us support – Bowling For Soup, Wheatus, Adam Lambert, Matt Willis & James Bourne, Army of Freshmen, Ryan Hamilton, McFly and Chico to name just a few.

Most of all, we want to thank you, our readers. Thank you for keeping us busy, for all the feedback and even for the strange late-night Twitter conversations. We love you all, but a special shout-out has to go to certain fan bases who we never grow tired of hearing from – Adam Lambert fans, McFly fans and Jedward fans.

Thank you, everyone. Here’s to seven more.
