Just in case you want to know a bit more about Leona Lewis’ rabbit. The one Steve Rushton is rabbit-sitting.

According to The Sun, Leona was out in Los Angeles when she saw a homeless man with a rabbit on a lead.

Worried for it’s welfare she asked what he was going to do with the bunny, and got the answer “Don’t know – probably eat it.”

Being a vegetarian, Leona was eager to save the furry friend, and gave the man $100 to spend on food in return for her new pet.

An insider tells the sun: “Leona is the proud owner of a new white rabbit called Melrose which she is keeping in her garden.”

“She was shopping on Melrose Avenue last week when she spotted it being kept on a lead by a homeless man.”

“She didn’t think life on a lead was any way for a rabbit to live – then when he said he was going to eat it she knew she had to save it.”
