The Love Island Effect has people booking holidays to Majorca

easyJet Holidays has seen a surge in bookings to Majorca aided by the popularity of Love Island, the hit ITV2 show which has gripped the nation all summer long.

Holiday bookings to the setting for ITV2’s most viewed show ever have soared by 20% compared with the period before the hit show was aired, showing that in true Islander style, sun-seekers thought they ‘could be happier’ on this stunning island this summer.

The show’s popularity has ensured Majorca and its sun-kissed-beach-setting has become synonymous with the show’s appeal and is driving heighted demand. easyJet holidays is also reporting that searches on the easyJet Holidays website for Majorcan holidays have jumped by 18%.*

Mandy Round, General Manager – easyJet Holidays said: “After a long summer of Love Island fever we’ve seen a significant rise in bookings from those who want to get a slice of the love islander experience. Whilst we have lots of customers who are already ‘loyal’ to this lively destination, the trends we can see show that a rise in travellers to Majorca can be attributed to the popularity of the show, from those wishing to follow in the footsteps of winners Dani, Jack and co.

“For those inspired by the charms of the Island as seen on the show and looking for a break from their summer of arm chair viewing, easyJet holidays offers a large choice of Majorcan holidays – including a selection of swanky villas for those who wish to recreate a Love Island experience in their very own Casa Amor!”
