Taylor Swift received the ‘Hal David Starlight Award’ presented by John Mayer at the Songwriters Hall Of Fame gala.

Mayer bravely stated that she could have “a hit in any era” and went further to explain his thoughts on the ‘Love Story’ star;

“Don’t confuse everybody loving one thing as hype, sometimes that’s everyone agreeing that it’s fabulous.”

It is mainly thanks to her second album Fearless, which has received numerous prizes and praise since it’s release in 2008.

In her speech Swift stated she had been “so moved” by the award and was thankful for being invited to attend the gala.
