Britney Spears has provided photographic proof that she is set to star in Glee by tweeting a picture of herself from the set.

Britney posted the snap of herself standing next to her assistant, Brett Miller, as they both sported spectacles and posed at the home of the Gleeks, William McKinley High.

She tweeted: “About to do my first shot of the day for Glee tweeties! Here we goooo!”

The singer later added: “What’s up GLEEKS? Having so much fun on set!! Can’t wait for you guys to see the episode! http://twitpic.com/2fykx7”

Britney is thought to be playing herself in the hit show after Ryan Murphy claimed that her character was Britney’s idea.

After devoting episodes to the hits of Madonna and Lady GaGa, we can’t wait to see the cast take on Britney’s biggest hits with reports suggesting that Lea Michele will sing her smash debut single, Baby One More Time.
