It’s that time of year again when a few ‘music insiders’ decide who the best of the best are for The Brit Awards. Surprise, surprise, Duffy is top of the list.
The Welsh singer has been nominated for best album, best single (Mercy), best female solo artist and best breakthrough act.
However this woman has tough competition from Grammy winners Coldplay who are up for best album with Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, and best single for Viva La Vida. The band are also up for best live act and will battle for best group with Girls Aloud, Radiohead, Take That and Elbow (who are also up for best group, best album).
Duffy is up against Adele, Beth Rowley, Estelle and M.I.A. for the best female solo award.
Kylie Minogue and Gavin and Stacey stars James Corden and Mathew Horne will present this year’s awards at London’s Earls Court on February 18. Among the stars appearing on the night will be Kings of Leon, Duffy, Girls Aloud and U2.
So tune in and find out if she has it in her to win!

WHEN Mathew Horne co-hosts the Brits next month with Kylie Minogue he’s ready for tongues to start wagging again.
Because last year there were reports that the Gavin & Stacey star and the Pop Princess were dating — rumours Mat finds hilarious.
He laughs and explains: “If I’d shagged Kylie everyone would know about it. EVERYONE! I would have a T-shirt and a tattoo telling them.
“The idea of people camping outside my mum’s house last year to ask her if I’m seeing Kylie is ridiculous!
“Of course nothing happened. Of course not. She’s Kylie!
“Obviously I fancy her. Me and James (Mat’s comedy partner James Corden) have completely different tastes in women. But Kylie is right in the middle of our Venn diagram. She’s a multi-millionaire and really fit pop star so, though she’s not my usual type she’s exempt from those rules.”
